WRITING AS A DEVICE FOR BETTER COMPREHENSION (FICTION AND NON-FICTION)

 Writing as a device for better comprehension (Fiction and non-fiction)

Merely, books is just claiming ownership but doesn't mean you actually own the book-you will need to actually OWN the book and the best way to do that is to write on it.  Writing on the book you are settling down with creates this invisible interaction between you and the author. The reasons - It keeps you awake so your attention is deliberately trying it's best to stay on top of it. 

                       -    It also makes you active, that is you can express the various streams of thoughts you had while reading the book.

As bookworms we sometimes can be guilty of superficial reading, it's no biggie once in a while our brain may tend to drift to something else and let's say you are reading a novel but there are just too many names to memorize and you are loving the book right now, you don't want to kill the burn (especially romantasy where the names can be pretty...awkward. Writing on books can look messy at first and you may rightly argue that it may result to the book looking unattractive and potentially the pages may become inflicted with so many scribblings the side begins to tear off. Bummer right? No need to worry by the time you are done reading  this blog post everything will become clearer.

    

   


Writing helps in ensuring our brain is in the present and digesting every bit of information our eyes are travelling round. We've talked about why you should adopt the lifestyle of  writing on books. Here are some of the devices for marking a book intelligently and fruitfully.

1. Underlining

2. Vertical lines

3. Asterisks at the margin

4. Numbers to indicate a sequence of points made by the author.

     


Fundamentally, writing on books is a good techniques to embrace as a bookworm in literally every material that comes your way.

It's imperative for both fiction and non-fiction to support comprehension leading to a more layered understanding of what we are diving into
